Dr. Sourayan Mookerjea is a political ecologist and environmental sociologist whose research addresses the class and cultural politics of energy system change in both Canada and in a global context. He is also a Kule Scholar in Climate Resilience (2020-2023) and the director of the Intermedia Research Studio at the Department of Sociology, University of Alberta. As director of the Intermedia Research Studio, he regularly program collaborative research projects and events.

As Education Coordinator for CAUA, he is looking forward to programming 2 events per semester (lectures, panels, roundtables, workshops, screenings, podcasts etc.) involving members of CAUA presenting their research or engaging in structured dialogue as part of the Intermedia Research Studio's Climate Justice, Degrowth, Eco-socialism Speakers Series. Also, he plans to arrange visiting speakers or co-sponsored events with other partners of the Intermedia Research Studio community.
